The Art History buff in me is really excited to see the newest ad campaign by Dior.
A BREAKDOWN OF COLOR IN FILM STILLS
There is no wonder genres of art overlap one another. Film and design are good examples of this. Many directors use color for effect. Just as Vincent van Gogh used greens and reds to represent anxiety, Stanley Kubrick used contrasting hot and cold colors to represent chilling distortions within the narrative. Here are color spectrum within stills of film. Color is so important; they have deep and direct impacts within the aesthetic and personal eye. So when someone asks you your favorite color, answer instead your favorite color combinations. What do they do for you? For me, a navy outfit with red lips makes me feel bolder than sans the red lips.

I am a big fan of publishing, mostly little magazines that hold themselves up on more than big advertisers and private stockholders. Self-service is a magazine based in Paris that hold an expectation of themselves. That expectation is the thrill of a glossy, editorial look without the bullshit celebrities wearing borrowed Couture plastered everywhere (it may just be an American editorial thing: everyone, even on Amazon, knows). The people at Self-Service love Couture and simply showcase it at its best.

COOL CATS
Sometimes we want to get away, but there is no way to plan a trip out...
So I have found that staycations are the best way to get away from home, without leaving home. And in New York city, that is too easy. More about Lek and Jen's staycation later....

A LITTLE HELLO
My most perfect type of morning involves sweet treats and lattes. This one is from a little Norwegian bakery just a tap dance away from us. Bakeri (not Bake-er-eye, but Bahk-ree: a mistake we told ourselves we never made inside the place, no no I refuse to think about it!) is like a dream within a dream. A hole in the wall with beautiful girls baking in vintage blue jump-suits and silk scarves in their hair, plates of quiches, breads, cookies comparable to Levain Bakery (we have a funny story about this place too) and ceilings with vintage textiles.
